Marc has been working in the municipal sector for over 37 years. He has worked with municipal Councils in two municipalities as a Director for over 18 years and has held senior management positions for 19 years. He began his career in Lamèque as the Director of Recreation and later took over the same position in Dieppe for nine years before becoming City Manager and Clerk in 2007.
Marc has a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation with a minor in Administration from the Université de Moncton. He is a member of the Association of Municipal Administrators of New Brunswick and the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators where he currently serves as First Vice-President.
Customer service, teamwork and responsible management are values that have led him to integrate the "Lean Six Sigma" approach in his organization for over a decade. Always on the lookout for new trends in the municipal world, he regularly participates in training sessions focused on best practices and current issues in the sector.
On the provincial scene, he has been involved in a municipal working committee as part of the municipal reform process, as well as in several working groups related to local governance.
Internationally, he is responsible for twinning arrangements between the City of Dieppe, New Brunswick, and the Cities of Dieppe, France, and Carencro, Louisiana.
His work has been recognized on several occasions, particularly in the field of recreation. He received the Hermel Courturier Award in 2014 for his outstanding career, efforts, impact, and commitment. He has also received the New Brunswick Recreation Workers Association Award of Merit twice (2000 and 2005) for his dedication, and has represented New Brunswick in the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association.
In 2024, he was awarded the Thomas L. Everett Award by the New Brunswick Association of Municipal Administrators. This award honors a distinguished municipal administrator who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in local government and made a significant contribution to the field, including through writings or other professional initiatives.
Marc also served as Vice-Chair of the Southeast New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island Nomination Committee (2009-2014) for the 2019 World Acadian Congress, and was a member of the organizing committee for the 2014 event.
