Getting the Message Out
You know that your co-workers have learning needs and would participate in educational opportunities that suit them. What can you do? In this section, you will find ideas and tools to get the message out.
Two tools, a survey and a PowerPoint presentation, will help you start the conversation. You can use the survey, Is It Time to Consider a Workplace Literacy Program?, to help your audiences examine their corporations for situations that indicate learning needs. You can show the PowerPoint presentation, Workplace Learning and Literacy in Canadian Municipalities, to introduce the who, what, how, and why of municipal workplace learning and literacy. You may also want to
- identify the benefits of workplace learning for all stakeholders
- suggest ways to eliminate barriers.
To help you make your case, you can describe CAMA’s role in workplace learning since 1993.
