Clear Language Workshop

City of St. John's

Sponsored by the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA), the City of St. John’s, and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), this one-day event will focus on how municipal managers and unions can use clear language every day in the workplace. It is on November 2, 2009 from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

You will leave the workshop with:

  • important information and tools,
  • a clear idea of how clear language can make a difference in your municipal workplace
  • a copy of The Clarity Kit: Effective Communication for Municipalities developed by the CAMA/CUPE workplace literacy projects.
  • Registration Form

City of Bathurst

The workshop will be on October 29, 2009 at the Centre regional KC Irving in the City of Bathurst from 8:30-3;30. The workshop sessions will all be in French. The participants will be exposed to a variety of topics related to workplace literacy and learning for Francophone workers. When they return to their workplaces, we believe they will be equipped to take a critical look at the literacy and learning issues that may exist there.
